the inconvenience. We hope
to put some new and
exciting things on these

future.
It's been a busy summer
around our Haus.
Dogs are getting lots of
exercise playing ball,
greeting visitors and
taking in the sunshine.
We are reminded of how
quickly this wonderful
weather passes in our
neck of the woods.
Our teachers are already
back to school and the
kids are on their way in
a few short days.
Some even started back
already. Gosh, how
time flies!
Our plans for breeding
this past Spring/Summer
was short lived due to
the terrible storms and
tragedies that took
place all around our
hometown/state this
year. We took the
time to help/reflect
upon more 'important'
things in life. We
are grateful for our
very own blessings, and
pray for a quick
recovery for those who
suffered dearly.
Our Fall pups might be a
bit slim, but we are
eagerly awaiting the
results of our
dedicated, hard work.
We are so grateful for
our wonderful clients
who wait so long for
pups sometimes, knowing
that we are not puppy
'generators', but select
breeders who are careful
in when, how and what we
breed. We
don't have litter after
litter of pups ready to
go and sometimes life
just 'happens'.
As
a sidenote, our old site
has now been removed.
Many of the links noted
below, referencing
pictures and pages are
now gone. We're
sorry, but this site is
gone. We will be
removing most of these
notes from past years
and starting 'afresh'.
Also, some of the

for flavorful, natural

We met some fantastic people
over this past month who
sell GREAT pet treats. The
best thing about this is not
only do they sell them, THEY
MAKE THEM TOO! This ain't
no buy and remarket kinda
deal here, folks! These
treats are baked, packaged
and sent from their own
kitchen - with care!! THIS
IS WHAT I LIKE - AND, SO DO
MY DOGS! The VHD clan has
been sampling them now for
awhile and they are going
coo-coo over them. The
treats come in various
flavors and sizes. I like
the fact that I can use the
larger ones when they are
just wanting a cookie and
the smaller ones for
training. I pop a handful
in my pocket and there's no
cutting or breaking before I
go. They smell yummie too!
Check it out! They are VERY
reasonable. They are also
neatly packaged so they make
nice gifts too! I've handed
out several samples to folks
to see if my dogs are just
pigs, or if the dogs really
do like them. The treats
were a BIG HIT!! You can

tell you about our dear,
precious Nina, once Tiny of
our Tova Litter. This past
week, she became a CANINE
GOOD CITIZEN. Nina lives in
MN now, with her loving
family and her sister Mya.
This wonderful family took
on a very demanding chore of
two puppies, of the same
age, same litter when they
purchased Nina. They have
been training Nina and Mya
for the past year. Mya too,
will test for her CGC. This
requires multiple classes,
not only class time, but
long hours at home
practicing and mastering
obedience skills with your
dog. Nina is not even a
year old yet. This is SO
FANTASTIC for both dog and
owner to acquire this
superior title. Nina was a
very special pup of this
very large litter. She was
the 'tiny' baby. I had a
special bond with her. She
is very, very smart, loyal
and loving. Her 'momma'
just proved this with
accomplishing this title.
Nina had to perform these
obedience skills in front of
a judge to accomplish this.
There was never a doubt
she could do it, nor her
'momma', but you do get
nervous and just like any
sport sometimes you are 'on'
and sometimes you are 'off'.
You never know if your dog
is having a good day, or
just wants to be playing
that day. Sara, I am so
very proud of you and Nina.
And, your family. I KNOW
what a chore it is to raise
one puppy. You've given
great dedication to raising
not only two puppies, but
three young, beautiful
children, running a
household and a full-time
job. You're amazing. I
thank you from the bottom of
my heart for the love and
care, and commitment you've
given in raising our VHD
babies. Best wishes,

050709. TODAY, WE ARE HAPPY
TO ANNOUNCE THAT OUR BELOVED
SINA GAVE BIRTH TO NINE
PRECIOUS PUPPIES! Even
through the past weekend of
flooding and tornados, Sina
kept her 'promise' to us, as
scheduled! Six girls and
three boys. Momma and
babies are resting well. It
will take about a week to
ensure all babies are strong
and developing as they
should after their long and
blessed journey.

032607. Today, we have some
VERY good news to report.
Both our Yulumbay of our
Sina and Wotai litter and
our Pony of our Nadia and
Wotai litter received
preliminary vet checks of
their hips and elbows.
Yulumbay at 6 months and
Pony at 8 months are showing
very good hips and elbows.
Although, Yulumbay's elbows
are still a bit young yet
for final results/fusion to
have taken place, they are
exactly where they should be
for her age. Pony had
excellent elbows! Both dogs
are showing excellent hip
results for their age. You

food, due to the recent
recall with several pet food
products, mainly canned
foods. VHD makes NO claim
as to the accuracy of these
sites, but offer them for
your reading pleasure. They
are posted here for a while,
as well as our links page in
the future. Hopefully, they
will help you find some
answers for those of you
wondering what you can feed
your dog, rather
supplementing or wanting to
feed your own home-made
diets! Please seek the

veterinarian or an 'expert'
if you so choose to feed
your own diets to ensure
your dogs are getting all
their nutrients fulfilled!

for those of you just

most all of VHD puppies live
with families either with
children or with folks who
have 'visiting' children.
VHD dogs LOVE children,
going places and being out
and about, IF given the
proper socialization and
exposures. We REALLY LOVE
to TOUT our families who
take proper care, set good
expectations of not only
their dogs, their children,
and yes, even their friends
and extended families with
'rules and limitations'. I
have clients who EXPECT
their parents to utilize the
'rules' when babysitting the
grand-pups! I'm so proud of
each and every family that
owns a VHD dog! You can see
by the pictures where they
try so very hard to
establish good relations
with their dogs, by spending
time WITH the dogs, proper
socialization, going to
training, and seeing the
'sites' and others! I have
several clients who take
their dogs to work with
them! This is VERY amazing,
as it's not necessary, but a
choice, and an overwhelming
one at that! Thank you dear
families always, for the
hard work you put into being
good leaders and great
companions to your dogs! I
not only hear it in your
voice when I speak with you
on questions or happy times,

Vom Haus Dettmer is so very
blessed to have many, many
homes where our puppies/dogs
are placed that have
children, or friends to
children. VHD dogs adore
children and we LOVE to
promote our dogs 'living'
and 'playing' with their
'packs' of children. We
teach and preach the need of
proper socialization of
puppies/dogs with many, many
things, (throughout their
lifetime - not just
puppyhood), including the
importance of children. Our
clients, who we like to call
our 'extended' families are
so very, very good dog
leaders. They realize this
importance and almost all
take their dogs to various
places and expose them to
different experiences.
Schools, parks, busy
streets, outdoor coffee
shops, dog parks, hiking,
swimming, beaches, Home
Depots, Menards, training,
bus rides, work, eateries,
and many other places. But,
most of all, they spend LOTS
of time exposing their dogs
to children. And to prove
it, they send me pictures of
their children with their
dogs, OR even
'rent-a-children, which we
like to call it! Many
parents have made it a
'rule' that the children
become very active in the
training and care (age
permitting) of the
puppies/dogs. THANK YOU TO
ALL MY WONDERFUL
EXTENDED-FAMILY DOG/PUPPY
OWNERS!! I'M SO PROUD OF
YOU! I KNOW HOW BUSY LIFE IS
ALREADY. I COMMEND YOU FOR
