Please Note...
We will NOT sell a puppy without SPECIFIC
information received from EACH and EVERY inquiry/individual seeking a Long Coat
German Shepherd puppy or dog!
You must communicate your needs, level of
experience with the Long Coated German Shepherd, environment to be provided, who
will be the primary care-giver, where the dog will sleep, where the dog will
rest while you are away, number and kind of other pets, children, amount of time
for training commitment, vet references, and other questions as Vom Haus Dettmer
deems appropriate!
If you send an inquiry seeking 'price' only, you
will NOT get a response! Our Long Haired German Shepherd puppies or dogs
are provided to individuals based on the level of care you give them, not the
amount of money you care to spend!
Each Long Coat German Shepherd Puppy is sold and
contracted based on the litter available, the parents, client need, companion
pet, breeding, etc..
Most Long Haired German Shepherd puppies sell
between $1200 to $1600. Spay/neuter contract UNLESS we know you as a
reputable breeder! The price of a breeding puppy starts at a min. of
$2500. Shipping is extra, approx. $450 which includes age appropriate
vaccinations, microchip, shipping, crate, vet health check and insurance!
Registration is based on
the parents of each litter whether it will be AKC (American Kennel Club) or UKC
(United Kennel Club) registered. Some of our imports are from true long
coat German Shepherd clubs outside of the United States. These may be
clubs that are not recognized by the AKC. Our heritage are all pure German
Shepherds, those registered in the SV, but their offspring (our parents) might
have been registered in another club of choice for sport. Also, many
of our AKC registered parents are dual-registered in the United Kennel Club for
showing purposes. Long Coat German Shepherds are NOT allowed to compete in
Conformation in the AKC. They are accepted in the United Kennel Club (UKC).
If you are buying a
pet companion, which most all our dogs are sold, we might ask you to wait until
proof of spay - neuter is received and verified by Vom Haus Dettmer before any
registration is provided. Most all pups leave with an AKC 'limited'
registration at the time of shipping, unless otherwise specified in the sale
contract.
We may have older dogs for sale at times, IF we
have a rescue or a dog that we kept/bought for breeding and then decided against
breeding for whatever the reason.
We do not guarantee rescue or adult dogs sold.
We do not transfer health guarantees for a dog we
bought from another breeder. They are normally NOT for transfer, unless
certain circumstances apply.
We don't just sell Long Haired German Shepherds
puppies. We sell life-time companions. If you can't make that
commitment, thanks for visiting, but please keep shopping!
You will be required to pay for food, shelter,
training and vet expenses and OUR contract fulfillments are based on your
ability to keep your commitment to your new companion! For example, if you
drag your young Long Haired German Shepherd puppy on a two-mile bike exercise or
jogging activity each day, chances are you won't get a guarantee when his bones
go out!
If you are seeking a
dog simply for 'protection' or to put in a vacant building or lot, without human
interaction, please look elsewhere! We breed to share our lines as family
companions, unless you are a professional person of law enforcement and have a
professional need! There are breeders who sell German Shepherds for
backyard protection. We don't.
We have on rare occasion sold 'multiple' Long Coat
German Shepherds to families or individuals who are educated in this breed and
have the experience to raise these dogs. And, we have several families
that own TWO AND THREE dogs of our Haus. Normally, a multiple dog purchase
(from the same litter) is not something we would recommend for the FIRST-time
puppy owner or Long Haired German Shepherd buyer. It's rare that we do
sell more than one puppy of the same litter, so it's better to not ask! If
you wish to have two dogs of our haus, we will consider other future litters,
but not two at once. ONE puppy is a tremendous time commitment!
